Our Club's Work Space

Our workshop is located at 20948-A Corsair Blvd in Hayward, just west of the Hayward airport. (See Map Below) The Mineral & Gem Society of Castro valley has one of the most well-equiped lapidary shops in Northern California. At our workshop, one can practice nearly all of the lapidary and jewelry arts after you sign up and pay yearly dues.

Please inquire about classes after you have completed your first cabochon. Some of the classes have a fee to cover material costs, but our instructors are all volunteers and are not paid. Take a tour of our shop below.

The Mineral & Gem Society of Castro Valley members volunteer their time to give educational talks to kids of all ages in local classrooms. We are always looking for new members that are free in the daytime to help with this educational and fun experience. Our society also donates two scholarships every year to two Cal State University, East Bay (Hayward) geology major students. Every aspect of our club focuses on the education of the lapidary arts, geology and mineralogy.
